. . . or at least implied promises, candidate Obama lamented ^[1] the Bush administration’s overuse of the “state secrets” privilege.

But last week, the Obama Justice Department filed a motion that embraces Bush administration arguments and even seeks to extend them. Glenn Greenwald has the details ^[2] of the Obama administration’s “new and worse” approach to “state secrets.”
